About the Member:

Bursa Municipality was established after the municipality law enacted in 1867. Through the law numbered 3391 enacted on June 18, 1987, Bursa Municipality gained the status of Metropolitan Municipality. In 2014, all 17 districts were included within the borders of the Metropolitan Municipality.

Within the scope of the Smart City Transformation, the Metropolitan Municipality determined the Smart City strategies with the vision of "Bursa, the most livable city that produces values from resources" and the mission of “Working together for smart and sustainable services centering people and the environment".

While exemplary projects were implemented not only in the field of transportation but for the transformation into a smart city completely, awareness was created on smart city with 'Smart Intersection' applications, Shared Bicycle and E-Scooter projects. The Open Data Platform is being put into use in order to support the transparent municipality services and entrepreneurship ecosystem. With projects such as Smart City Communication Infrastructure and Internet of Things Platform, smart city applications will be introduced to the citizens of Bursa.

The Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which is also actively involved in international projects, has been the only institution from Türkiye participating as an observer entity in the research and innovation Project of INCIT-EV, organized in the scope of the EU Horizon 2020 Fund.
